Marks and TeacherEase Instructions

Download Marks Comments:
Transferring your TeacherEase grades into the Marks Program for HCPSS Official Progress Reports and Report Cards.
First and foremost----Record all of your grades into your TeacherEase classes.
Downloading Your Marks Classes
Create a folder on your desktop or in your documents folder.
Name the folder using the word Marks and your first initial and your last name. EX: Marks-lkoudelka Q1-2007-08
Open CLC by clicking on the “First Class” icon
Log on using your personal User Name and Password
Double click on Mailbox
Open the E-Mail containing the Marks classes sent from the Data Clerk. When you open your e-mail your classes will be an attachment. They are named as they are in MacSchool and the names cannot be altered if MacSchool is to "read" your data when you submit it to our Data Clerk. If you have made any changes to the name NO grades will appear!
Highlight the classes in the attachment and drag them to your desktop.
Drag them into the Marks folder.
Opening/Closing the Class
Open the Marks Program first. The Chancery Opening screen will appear when you launch the program. Click once on the screen it will disappear and the Marks Program will open.
Once the program opens, go to File > Open to open classes. Navigate to your Marks Folder and double click the class. Only one Marks class can be open at a time.
To close a class, click on the small box in the upper left-hand corner of the class’s window or go to FILE/CLOSE. If you have made any changes to the class, the computer will ask if you want to save the changes. It is always a good idea to save changes as you make them, and never rely on the computer to ask.
Opening Letter Grades
Go to WINDOWS > SHOW POINTS & CREDITS.
Navigate to you Marks folder>select the Points & Credits
The Points & Credits Screen will open and should contain the HCPSS grading scale.
Close the Points & Credits Screen by clicking on the upper left hand box.
Preparing Marks for HCPSS Official Progress Reports and for Report Cards
Go to Windows > Show Term Marks.
On the top left corner, you’ll see “Report Card Bin.” Pull down and click on appropriate quarter.
NEVER SELECT INTERIM OR FINAL GRADE.
Tab over to the column labeled Percent and type the percentage the student has earned. A letter grade should automatically appear when you tab down to the next student. If it does not follow the direction above to Open Points and Credits.
Entering Comment Numbers to Print Comments on Report Cards
Continuing in the SHOW TERM MARKS window
Be sure that you are working in the appropriate quarter/term.
Click on the arrows in the bottom right hand corner to scroll over to the Comments.
Enter the comment number of the comment you wish to appear on the report card.
You may use comments space1-4 for any comment you choose. Comment #5 is reserved for Reading and Math levels only and those comments must be entered every quarter. No other comment may be put in that column.
Math- Comment #5
Reading- Comment #5
290 Above Grade Level 390 Above Grade Level
291 On Grade Level 391 On Grade Level
292 Below Grade Level 392 Below Grade Level
COMMENT #103 STATES: REFER TO WWW.TEACHEREASE.COM FOR MORE DETAIL. It should be entered for all students in Comment #1.
BE SURE TO SAVE ALL CLASSES WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED PREPARING THEM FOR PROGRESS REPORTS OR REPORT CARDS.
EMAIL THE CLASSES AS ATTACHEMENTS TO THE DATA CLERK BY THE DEADLINES LISTED ON THE MURRAY HILL MIDDLE SCHOOL MASTER CALENDAR .
