Team Printer Out of Toner?

Here are a few options if your team printer runs out of toner:
  • Send print job to the print shop!
  • Single or double sided copies over 75 try the Gestetner -but no packets!
  • Print to the Konica in the front office

MacBook Air UPDATE!

With the MacBook Air computers, to select a printer, all you need to do is go to

Self Service in your Dock, sign in, and select desired printer! The Konica is there, too!

COLOR Printing

should be sent as an attachment to Teacher's Secretary Ms. Bright-Flemming - up to 5 pages. I honestly just go to Staples or the UPS store.


Printing GAFE ADOBE PDF's to the Konica

From Mark: For printing on the Konica from Adobe on the new laptops. After one clicks "Print" in the Konica print dialog box, one must still click "Print" in the Adobe print dialog box to execute the print job. See below

Set Up Your Team Printer - HP

1) Go to System Preferences (Gears Icon in Dock)
2) Select Print & Fax
3) Click on the "+" plus sign to add printer
4) Click on the GLOBE icon for IP (NOT default)
5) Type in the NEW Printer Name as listed below for your area where it says: Address (should say Valid & complete address) or written on the printer - should start with mhm-
6) The name should appear in the "Name" Section at the bottom of the page - wipe it out & put in friendly name (6thGr, Art Room, etc.)
7) Name the Location "Room Number" - Wherever it is (You have to Type it In)
8) Click the "Add" button that the bottom - it should say this is a valid printer - if it says invalid
- email Ms. Bell at kathleen_bell@hcpss.org so that we can generate a help ticket.
9) Click "Continue" when next screen comes up.

You should be set up and ready to print! (see screen shot below) - a Printable Word doc version of this can be downloaded below! :-)

Basic Printer Troubleshooting

•Errors on printer
Check consumables: paper, toner
Refer to documentation specific for that printer. For example: some lights are “advisory” on the Ricoh printers (For convenience see chart attached for more lights for the Ricoh 3300 and for Ricoh 4110).
• Power - lights on?
NO – toggle power on button - check again
NO – check power cord; connect firmly to wall outlet and printer power port. Toggle power on button – check again.
NO – try another outlet – check again.
NO – contact Meridian for Ricoh printers, Do a work order for HCPSS computer tech, your printer needs attention.
YES – try printing, successful? You’re done! Not successful? Try the next troubleshooting step
• Computer – print queue status?
FULL - clear jobs, try printing, successful? You’re done! Not successful? Try another step.
PAUSED – start queue, it should start printing. Successful? You’re done! Not successful? Try another step.
EMPTY – try printing to the printer from another computer. Successful? Do a work order for computer tech, your computer needs attention. If HCPSS can not fix they will direct you to call Meridian for Ricoh printers or HCPSS tech will put a call into a specific vendor to come out.
• Network – check Ethernet (network cable). Link lights blinking at the back of the printer where cable connects?
NO – firmly reseat Ethernet cable in the port in back of the printer and in the wall jack – check again
NO - try another wall jack, check again
NO – Do a work order for computer tech
YES – Try printing to printer from a different computer. Successful? Do a work order for computer tech, your computer needs attention. If HCPSS can not fix they will direct you to call Meridian for Ricoh printers or HCPSS tech will put a call into a specific vendor to come out.
•NOTE: Scan to email and printing issues with Ricoh MFD’s or OCE’s call Barbara Bleiler, Assistant Manager Print Services 6684. (Copier issues, vendor will be called by key operator at the school or office; call Barb if there are questions.)
