Creating an iTunes Playlist:

Archiving a Purchased CD, Playlist Making,

and Burning a CD for MHMS Teachers & Students.

Remember, your iTunes playlist & library will always be on the computer where you loaded and created it
..Music does NOT get sync'd to our server... or follow you from computer to computer. So, you must go back to the original eMac you started with each time. Classroom computers can NOT burn discs...only a few computers in the Media Center and laptops can burn CDR's
Best place to buy CDR's? Look for deals at Best Buy & Target....don't bother with CDRW's...they cost more and are not as stable...one time CDR's are less expensive and more reliable.

First Create the playlist.

Playlists (definition) can be used in iTunes to do many things - create custom mixes of songs, burn CDs, or sync multiple iPods to the same computer.
Here’s quick guide to creating playlists:
Start by going to iTunes and clicking the “plus” sign at the bottom-left corner of the screen to create a new playlist.

Name the playlist

After you’ve clicked the button, you’ll see an untitled playlist created in the drawer above you. You can type the name of it into the field. Hit enter or return to finalize the name.
If you accidentally call it untitled, just single click the playlist, wait a second, and then click the text of the name. It will become editable again.

Add songs to the playlist

When you’ve added all the songs you want in your playlist, click the playlist name on the left. This will display the list and let your order the songs. Put the songs in the order you want by dragging them above or below each other.

Optional: Burn a CD

To burn music CDs in iTunes, you must first create a playlist with all the songs you want on that CD. Once you’ve created the playlist, insert a blank CD. An icon will appear at the bottom-right corner of the iTunes window. Click that to burn the CD. It takes about 5 minutes to burn each disk.
